When was Sola Scriptura ratified as a doctrine or principle by the early church?

In 1504 at a town called Wittenburg.

But as others have said, it doesn’t really stand up.
SS has no chance and it never did. Regardless of whether it is a principle or doctrine or whatever, its history is novel in the early church.

Sola = only.

I don’t think anybody here is denying the importance of Scripture to the faith. It is just that what the Fathers are saying is not what you think they are saying. St. John Chrysostom himself has made a ton of exegesis on most of the New Testament. If Scripture alone was sufficient, why did he bother?
Because it is the teaching role of the Church.

There are lots of quotes from the Fathers that imply scripture as being the most important source, the final norm, if you will. But it seems to me that using the Fathers in this way, for either side, assumes that the Fathers would have knowledge of what is meant by SS, or that they would have knowledge of the Schism regarding the understanding of Tradition. I don’t think this can be assumed, and attempts to plug their quotes into a debate about how the Church comes to doctrinal understanding seems questionable.
