You have made my day contemplative! New Orleans has had a sizeable Croatian community here for over a hundred years. I listened to several of the cuts and can hear the Eastern Christian influence in the music. I went to high school with quite a few of these kids of Croat descent - they were oystermen and fishermen and I could tell you the names of the towns (which aren’t of French origin not by a long shot) and I could tell you how much I honor and respect Eastern Christian influences in our Latin world. However, from my recent experiences in posting my hopes about our Eastern Christian brethren, prepare yourself for the assault. It’s funny but my wife teaches at a local university and she has had numerous young people from both Eastern and Western Christian traditions from the old Yugoslavia as students… I like the music. I’d love to see the Church that Our Lord founded united, but be prepared for bias coming from the east.
