When you say the blessing, are you literally "blessing" the food?

Well, I’m sorry to see that you haven’t had any responses. Please don’t feel left out, it is just that this should have been posted somewhere else on the forum. This section “Prayer Intentions” is for prayer requests.

However, we are asking God to bless us and the food in which we are about to partake.

BLESS US O LORD, AND THESE THY GIFTS
OF WHICH WE ARE ABOUT TO PARTAKE FROM THY BOUNTY, THROUGH CHRIST OUR LORD. AMEN

I agree with Pam, but I feel we are also thanking God too.
