Where are we in terms of human history?

It’s profound to me of all that has happened in our world over the past 200 years or so. The huge population explosion, the industrial revolution, advanced technology and changes to our attitudes, beliefs and morals. If things seem a little chaotic, is it any wonder? Is it amazing to anyone else that the world is as cohesive as it is? Is it any wonder that this period of extremely rapid change did not cause the world to crash? Is there something or someone who is guiding our world, such as God and His myriads of angels? Where are we headed? Can anybody predict where the world will be in another 200 years? Given all these rapid developments, is it a little silly that we get so caught up in mundane matters, like politics?

I think our rapid development has great benefits, as well as problems… In our modern world, people almost can get anything they want in an instant, and possessions and greed seem to rule over God and morality. That’s why politics are still important… They shape how the next generation’s world will be.

I hope in the next 200 years the world will come back to God, just as fast as they seemed to run away from him in the last 200.
 
Probably 5 minutes to midnight, if the whole “end of times” narrative is to be believed.

Billions of years until the end of the earth in terms of astronomy and other science. So they say. We might be 4 billion years out of billions more until the sun expands and burns us up in a fiery death. Time to change your underwear, anyway.

Of course, earth history is not human history at all. Nothing like it.
If the earth has been here for 4 billion years, then humans in modern form have only been around for a tiny fraction of that and even the dinosaurs only go back 100 million years or so.

My guess? Whether there is a god or not, we might still be 5 minutes from midnight in terms of things that might end or drastically alter human history.
 
We have no way of knowing.

Mistaking the shadow of death hanging over our eyelids for a shadow over the whole world, we all have a propensity to believe we stand at the end of history; we do not.

My guess is that we are somewhere near the beginning. We have made great strides, but many important issues remain the be resolved.

There are some who hold to that, however, this is at best a minority view in Judaism.

Is it true that the closer we are to the end times the less time is to be spent in the purgatory?
 
Purification cannot be quantified by measurements of time-earth. Time is used as a conceptual model to understand.

There is no time in the eternities; and intensity can substitute for time.

Time does not exist without the entropy of our natural bodies.

When we pray for the souls in the purgatory, what is actually the result if not time shortened from our point of view?

An easing of intensity in the purgation?

Really, timelessness is something our timebound heads can’t wrap around.

IF we manage not to destroy ourselves we may be at the very start of very great advances in many technologies, science, medicine, etc

We are emerging from a level zero civilization to a level one. Where
Level one implies we are using resources from our own star.

I suspect there may be many much more advanced worlds in the universe
By comparison, we are barely starting out, we have about two hundred years
Of a so called high tech while other worlds may have many thousands or millions of
Years head start.
