Hi,

I recently have wanted to try and start to give some of my time to the poor through volunteering at a local soup kitchen (or something similar). The only Catholic organisation that I know of in my area does not facilitate for this. Is it alright if I go to a non-Catholic or non-Christian charity? Is there any benefit from going to a Catholic organisation besides Jesus’ name being proclaimed?

Thanks,

Delta

Hi,

The pro-life movement needs people who are willing to help.

I’m sure there are many people you can help on the parish level. Check with your parish or a neighboring parish. There are plenty opportunities in the Catholic Church without having to look elsewhere. You might want to check with your diocese. You are in our prayers.
