Where does the Bible say to continue the line of the Pope?

I am a Protestant and am trying to learn more about the Catholic Faith. I understand how Catholics call Peter the first Pope (Matthew 16:17), but I do not find where Jesus told Peter to pass on this role. Where in the Bible does Jesus say to continue a line of “head of the church”?
