Where does your church house Jesus in the Eucharist?

Our Tabernacle is in a side chapel. I wish it was at the front of the church, but every priest we have had has said they wouldn’t move it there because of the lack of reverence people in our church show by their talking and socializing.

Now we have a new priest. Maybe he will educate the faithful about reverence, and then we can move the Tabernacle to a place of honour. :gopray2:

Behind and well to the side of the altar. But thankfully in clear view from within the sanctuary.

We have a new priest who keeps the real presence in the sanctuary as well. Our previous priest would keep it in a side chapel (when we were not having mass) which was out of sight. I am still getting used to genuflecting in the sanctuary when I am visiting at non-mass times…man I am pleased to see that candle in the sanctuary lit at all times now!

Tabernacle, front and center. Or on the altar for adoration.

I was at a funeral last week in a rural community in northern Michigan. Didn’t care for the church architecture – but to each their own. However, I never DID figure out where our Lord rested. Finally asked some one, commenting that I “kept looking for the red candle!” They thought that was very funny and I never did find out where the Eucharist was. 🤷

I understand why this is done, but I still feel that the Tabenacle should be higher than and behind the altar. The body, blood, soul, and divinity resides inside of it and when you enter a Church everything should direct your eyes to the center of the Church altar and what would your eyes come to rest on - the tabernacle containing Jesus. The Eucharist is THE most important part of our faith and sometimes I feel like we are putting Jesus in the corner (out of sight, out of mind) when we do not have the Tabenacle on the altar. Parrt of the problem is we have allowed this to happen. We allow people to be disrespectful in Church, as a child I would never have talked out loud while in Church. Why is this happening now? We have let it happen. So what do we do? We don’t correct the problem, we just put Jesus in the corner.

Well thanks for letting me vent - I feel better

We have a tabernacle in the main church, another in the daily mass chapel, and then another chapel for 24-hour adoration. 🙂
This sounds like what we will have. Right now the Blessed Sacrament is reserved in the Tabernacle which is in the main sanctuary (to the right of the altar as you look at it). We will be opening an adoration chapel soon and will have another small tabernacle there.

In the tabernacle in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, to the side of the altar with a floor to ceiling glass window so you can see it if you are in the sanctuary.
