Where is an updated boycott list for the prolife movement?

I’ve been boycotting as many companies as I can from a list of direct supporters of Planned Parenthood that I saw years ago, especially easy ones like Kraft, Nike, Ben and Jerry’s, etc. where there are plenty of other companies to choose for cheese, shoes, and ice cream. However, I can’t find a recent list. I’d like to avoid any new supporters and return to any companies that have since revoked their support. Does anyone know where a list is maintained?

Edit: By the way this is the old list I was thinking of - Meet the 38 Companies That Donate to Planned Parenthood

Are you also seeking names of companies that exploit their workers, those that traffic in arms sales, tied to objectification of women? Are you asking for names of companies that destroy the environment, support the death penalty? How about not supporting those that make it harder for women to make ends meet once they choose life for their child. Those are just a few of the additional companies you’ll need to ask for if you are to be “pro-life”. I don’t support Planned Parenthood, but there is a lot more to being pro-life than being pro-birth. Rant over; sorry this one hits a nerve.

Bank of America and Starbucks are on my boycott list over support for Planned Parenthood.
I do keep credit cards with Bank of America, but pay them off on time and have a cash back points option so they are paying me. I do not keep checking or savings accounts with them so they cannot use my money to increase their profit margin.

I would if I could, but corruption is everywhere and my time and resources are limited. I used to spend hours a day just researching companies, trying to avoid sweat shops and all manner of evil to the point that I realized the fruit of my labors was disproportionate. Boycotting is not the only way God would have me spend my time. I choose to focus on abortion because I believe it to be the greatest injustice, depriving millions of living at all, depriving all opportunity of glorifying God with their lives. If you have a list of companies, the evils they support, and alternatives to fill my needs, I’ll gladly use it.

Moe’s Southwest Grill lost me as a customer when I learned of their support for JDRF, as did Advance Auto Parts/CarQuest (same company).

The Moe’s situation is a pity. You can get auto parts anywhere, but of all the fast-casual Mexican places, Moe’s is by far the best, and fairly economical too.

Guess it’s going to be Taco Bell for the duration. Their menu is highly customizable and you can make almost anything vegetarian or vegan, good for Fridays. It is cheap, nutritious, tasty, filling, and nearby (across the street), and that’s all anybody could ask for. And they don’t support JDRF.

Sorry, I was just making a point. If we boycotted everything we have a disagreement with, there will be few organizations with which to do business. Some have even used the same argument to boycott the Catholic Church with the abuse scandals. It’s obviously your choice and I wish well with it.

I boycotted IKEA and Starbucks for their explotation to workers in developing countries, also Netflix for their prochoice stand.

The Archdiocese of Baltimore has addressed their use of aborted fetuses thusly:

“The Archdiocese of Baltimore does not encourage support, financial or otherwise, for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) due to its policies regarding medical research that engages in or endorses practices that violate the dignity of human life, including Human Embryonic Stem Cell Research and the use of fetal tissue derived from abortions.”

For a while I boycotted my favorite restaurant, Olive Garden, because they donate to Girls Inc, but I gave up on boycotting companies that indirectly support Planned Parenthood. I think you would find that the vast majority of big companies donate to a nonprofit that donates to Planned Parenthood.

JDRF is unusually “in-your-face” about the use of embryos for stem cell research. In a nutshell, they tell us “we are going to keep doing what we are doing, and we really don’t care what you think about it”.

That is not to say that their crimes would be any less heinous if they were gentlemanly (gentlepersonly?) and nuanced about the matter.

One would have to live off the grid, not use any telecommunications, generate your own electricity, grow all your own food, weave your own fabric for clothes, make your own shoes, to avoid anything that contributes to something sinful.

Heck, one could not shop at a yard sale until you did a background check on the seller.

Better to donate too local groups who are doing works of mercy and to live at peace with all men

Not buying products from companies that directly contribute to killing children is kind of a good thing to do.

By this logic, if someone seeks information on a certain charitable organization, he should be criticized for not donating to every charity.

I would agree though, that people need to at least lend moral support to the other causes, in addition to pro- life. I recall a phrase, “seemless tapistry of life”.

I was surprised United Way and March of Dimes donate as they are chartable organizations.

That list was helpful. I am still waiting for a current list.
I am glad there were not over 40. I hope the number has not gone up.

Because Christ told us to go do love be mercy, not “by this shall all men know you are my disciples by how well you boycott”

I don’t understand arguments like this. Jesus never explicitly says to hug your wife either, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a sign of love. We are not supposed to tolerate evil. Boycotting is a way of fighting evil.

You may very well be making money from them, but they are making more on your use of the card. The card issuer gets a percentage of each transaction at the time of sale, paid by the merchant by deduction from the total transaction value, averaging ~2%.

How accurate are these lists?

Is there any independent evidence for these companies contributing to Planned Parenthood other than secondhand Internet stuff?

And as for Bank of America, I’d be uncomfortable boycotting them because they’ve almost always been good to me over the years. I’d rather boycott the other national bank (starts with “S”) because they (1) made a mistake on my account and charged me for it, (2) wouldn’t give me a refund, and (3) were rude and incompetent.

I do think in the same lines as you. Where it hits company the hardest is in money related issues. So in my case, I prefer not giving them my hard earned money. When I cancelled Netflix, I stated my reason as I know other prolifers did. They probably couldn’t care less, but at least they know that we are not all in agreement with them. We probably can’t boycott every company, but I do it with some. Two weeks ago, a friend asked my reason for cancelling Netflix and I told her, so I think it can lead to teachable moments too. I just don’t want to do what everyone does because we can’t fight the system.
