Early Christian historian and priest, John Dominic Crossan, notes that since antiquity, the remains of only one crucified victim has been found having been buried.

John Crossan left the priesthood and married. He is not a priest in good standing. Neither is he a Christian as he does not believe in the resurrection or that Jesus performed many miracles nor does he believe that Jesus died for our sins. The fact that there is one crucified victim that was found indicates that some were buried.

Hence, Crossan and retired bishop John Strong–among others–think the tradition that his body was buried by Joseph of Arimathea in the tomb is incorrect.

John Strong belongs to the Episcopal Church. Since they disregard written records, they mark themselves as being unreliable.

So Heaven is a physical place?

I don’t pretend to know and I think you are over-thinking it.

I don’t mean that as an insult.

My experience with such questions is that the more I struggle, the more they bother me. When I let it go into God’s hands and say, “I really don’t know Lord but I trust you”, that’s when I usually get some understanding.

In the quest for faith and understanding, my esperience is that faith comes first. There are many questions which I have asked in prayer, sighed, and said, “Oh well… Let me know about this God, when you think I need to know.” and just let it go.
