What I see in the article is a very kind woman who has a soft heart but has holes in the knowledge of her faith.

I also think she is only considering what she considers is good and ignoring or unaware of what is the whole good encompases.

I believe if she would see an actual abortion and what kind of reaction the fetus or unborn infant goes thru, being a kind woman, she would see it differently.

Many think that the church is trying to change the law to forbid the person the legality of having an abortion. That isn’t correct. We are not changing abortion laws. Rather we do not want the law to make us legally responsible for doing or supporting one. It isn’t about change.
It’s about preserving our own integrety from being forced us to participate. The woman in the article did not seem to understand this because she mentioned women who were butchered before the law was changed. The church is not advocating that.

The woman went into this abortion bit right after marriage was brought up as the bible not defining what marriage was, or the teaching on marriage not being in the bible. I took her to mean that abortion was not in the bible since there was nothing on marriage in the bible.

Just a thought or two.

In this article there is a quote that flabbergast me… cnn.com/interactive/2012/10/politics/undecided.voters/catholic.html

“Nowhere in the Bible does he define what marriage is.”

The only question I have left is where is the priest not making stuff like this clear as well as any sunday school etc she went too? sigh…
Sure it does, the first is in Genesis when God created Adam and Eve. He created Eve from Adam’s rib to be his help mate and companion - not his " playmate. "

Then in the New Testament when the Pharasies asked Jesus why Moses allowed divorce, Jesus said Moses allowed it because of the hardness of their heats but now they couldn’t divorce except for immorality.

Then again he said a man shall leave his parents and cleve to his wife.

But of course that leaves aside the point that the Catholic Church has the authority to pass on the truth of both Tradition and the Scriptures and the Catholic Church definitely defines marriage and a whole host of other things and the Magisterium has been appointed by Christ Himself and all Catholics are supposed to follow what it teaches.

So that lady is just another Cafeteria Catholic like so many others. 👍
