On another thread the question was asked if Joe Biden (or perhaps any other pro abort pols) should be excommunicated as they support snd spread the evil of abortion.
One answer was given that we must abide by the individual Bishops decisions as to whether the pols in their diocese should or should not receive communioin.
IF canon 915 is a decree of Objective Truth, then how can some Bishops condone giving communion to pro abort pols, while others say they will not do so as to allow it, as I understand it, desecrate the Holy Eucharist.
One Bishop even went so far to say the Eucharist may be a “teaching” tool for those not in the state of grace (ie. pro aborts), that it could somehow miraculously turn their ankles so they would turn in the opposite direction.
So which is is it., as I was always taught, that one should be willing to lay down one’s life before allowing desecration of the Eucharist, or the hope that a miracle will occur and convert the sinner?
If unrepentant sinners are allowed to receive the Body of Christ doesn’t this mean the host is only a piece of bread and a cup of ordinary wine to some?
