Which books should I read for Lent

  • Humility of Heart
  • Navarre Bible: Pentateuch and St. Ignatius Study Bible
  • Imitation of Christ
  • Peter Kreeft’s Socratic Logic and Summa of the Summa
  • St. Alphonsus de Liguori’s Moral Theology and Fr. Chad Ripperger’s the Binding Force of Tradition
  • The Noonday Devil
  • St. Francis de Sales’ Introduction to the Devout Life
  • Just drop the Glories of Mary
  • Other: Some other combination of the above or, other suggestion of books that I may or may not have

I have huge collection of Catholic book I want to read. Right now, I’m reading both Douay-Rheims Bible and the Knox Bible, the Catechism, St. Faustina’s Diary, and the Glories of Mary by St. Alphonsus de Liguori. I have also just finished reading Roger Buck’s The Gentle Traditionalis,t which is an excellent book by the way, I highly recommend it, especially for anyone who is interested in the Traditional Catholic Movement, or is trying to understand TradCats. When Lent begins, I plan on dropping The Glories of Mary as a mortification, but I’ll still try to keep reading the other books, though I may drop one of the Bibles. I have several books that I’m considering reading during Lent, which are listed in the poll above, which book or combination of books should I read?

As with last Lent and Advent all I read was the daily readings for Mass and prayed the LOTH.

I think the imitation of Christ is good to read pretty much all year round.
This Lent Apart from the litury of the hour’s and the daily readings for Mass, I’m considering reading The Sadness of Christ by St Thomas More.

You may want take a look at the four last things by Fr Martin von Cochem.
