Which calender do the UGCC use ? is it the old or new or…? I heard one is called gregorian and one is called Julian?

Where can I find a print out of it? so I can copy and paste it, print it and use it?

To my understanding, it depends on the country, and it depends on the parish. Most parishes in the US are on the Gregorian Calender, but a few are Julian. I hear that in Ukraine the parishes are on the Julian calender. I do not know what the situation is in Ireland, perhaps the church in Dublin may be able to assist you in that?

As for calenders, usually the Ruthenians here produce a calender for each year that UGCC parishes sell or give out, I do not know where else to find a calender except perhaps from an Orthodox jurisdiction. Again, your local parish may be of help there too.

We use two calendars as do members of my family.

I’m only grateful we don’t yet have any Armenians in our family - then we would have three Christmases (and if we had an Armenian from Israel, four Christmases . . .).\

How about readings. I noticed the Gospel for the 23rd Sunday after Pentecost on ByzCath is different from the one we had in the parish yesterday. If the 23rd Sunday on the Julian Calendar a different reading from the one on the Gregorian? We follow Gregorian, but it could be that we’re still getting the readings from the Julian if thats the case? Just my guess.

There is a Slavic and a Greek lectionary, and also Old Calendar and Gregorian Calendar are used in different jurisdicitons. There are three possibilities: Lukan leap (jump) Gregorian, Lukan leap (jump) Old Calendar, and non-Lukan leap (jump) Old Calendar.

Byzantine Catholic is using the Greek lectionary.

Interesting. I would do more research online. Thanks Vico 👍

Well, there are currently 13 days difference between the two calendars.

My parish is on the Revised Julian, so basically new calendar except Pascha. There are issues with that. I think it was either Fr. Schmemann of blessed memory or Fr Hopko who writes well on the issues.

We are given wall calendars every year which come from St. Tikhon’s bookstore. The list the readings on each day which is handy, as well as the fasting/feasting of the day.
