I was being facetious. I should have put in a smiley, so here it is 😃

The Roman Canon isn’t my favourite, but I don’t ā€œhateā€ it.

ā€œAnglican Useā€ is what my bishop (Most Rev. Steven J. Lopes) does NOT want us using. The chancery has said ā€œDivine Worship Formā€ is the preferred term. I yield, on this matter, to the appropriate authorities.

I was not aware of that.

Then I too shall refer to it from here on out as ā€œDivine Worship Formā€ - it’s kind of clunky, but if it’s the preferred term of the hierarchy I’m happy to use it.

I suppose it fits nicely with the ā€œn-formā€ terminology for the Roman Rite.

So now the Roman Rite takes three forms -

Ordinary Form / Pauline
Extraordinary Form / Tridentine
Divine Worship Form / Anglican

It’s not even ā€œDivine Worship Formā€. It’s simply ā€œDivine Worshipā€ and its texts for Mass is called ā€œDivine Worship: The Missal.ā€ I’m presuming the upcoming daily prayer will be ā€œDivine Worship: The Officeā€.

I heard from a monk, who knew Archbishop Lefebvre’s secretary, that the late archbishop was known to use EP II when he had to say Mass in a hurry at an airport between flights 😃

Well, I got my information from someone who appears to be in regular contact with the chancery in Houston, so don’t quote me on it. He has a website which publishes the proposed texts for the ordinariate daily office, currently awaiting approval by the Vatican. They have morning and evening prayer conference calls.

So that this thread doesn’t get off track, anyone interested can PM me.
