Chonicles of Narnia, Lord of the rings, Dumbo, Bambi.
Which one.
I love all of these movies. I feel Bambi is the best.

Depends on the family. Dumbo, Bambi, Narnia, LotR, from friendliness of youngsters to more mature kids.

Dumbo, Bambi, Narnia, and Lord of the Rings.

Dumbo is the best as far as family friendly goes…no real frightening moments. Bambi’s mother is shot, although it’s off-screen. Narnia has scenes of creatures being killed or turned into stone. Lord of the Rings is PG-13, battle oriented violence, not to mention each film is around 3 hours or more long.

I would have to switch Bambi and Dumbo. IMO - The scenes in Dumbo where he is rediculed for being different were more dark and disturbing then the hunting scenes in Bambi. Of course, both equally portray human emotion. The other two are sort of sophisticated for younger kids - more plot.

You got a point there, especially when Dumbo’s mother tries to help him and ends up being punished by the ringmaster.

Definitely LOTR and Narnia. They are based on books by Christian Authors and have Christian themes in them.

the author of Bambi wrote from a Christian perspective which was ignored in the movie. so did the author of the book Pinocchio, another Disney remake not mentioned. I suggest to all families to first read the books to your children before seeing the movies.

family movie means different things to different families. How old are the children? Personally I don’t think young children should watch any movies or TV shows unless parents are there as filters to discuss disturbing or questionable elements and to answer kids’ questions.

dumbo is the only movie I ever cried at, the scene where is mother is taken away is seared on my memory and gave me nightmares for years. I would not advise kids not to see it, but I would advise parents to use it to deal with the real fear all kids have of losing their parents and discuss those fears and offer reassurance.

I don’t let my kids Watch Lord of the Rings. They’re too young. I probably should have picked another one but, couldn’t think of one at the time. :o I love that movie but, It’s very scarey to my kids.

egg on my face. :o

It depends on how old your kids are. You probably shouldn’t allow them to watch LOTR until they are about 12 years old. Although it is a thouroughly Christian story, it is very intense and scary. Chronicles of Narnia are much tamer and better suited for children, but there are battles and semi-scary creatures. They are both great!

None of the above, I choose The Incredibles. That movie is great for every age.

Which is so much worse than my small children seeing orcs and violent battle scenes.
