Who are the righteous?

In today’s Gospel reading (Matthew 9:13), Jesus says, “…I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.”

Who are the righteous? Aren’t we all sinners? How can we become righteous (if that’s what God wants us to be) in this world?

Hi,

You have it. This is the point that our Lord was making. The righteous he is referring to, are those who THINK they are righteous. But we are All sinners and in need of His grace.
