This topic made me think of this Catholic Hipster meme:

Saint Alexis (Alexie) is an important saint in my orthodox church (Romania). There is even a popular local celebration done in his name to celebrate the coming of Spring on March 17 coinciding with his feast in the church calendar - Alexiile (The days of Alexis - in a rough translation). It was said he was kind to all God’s creatures including bugs (hence he welcomes spring because that is when bugs get out from underneath the tree barks to mark the beginning of spring).
His parents were named Eufimian and Aglaida. St. Alexis was discovered as a holy man after his death by pope Innocent (5th century) who came together with the emperor from door to door to find him and when they did his parents were surprised and very sad.
His holy head is in Monastery Agia Lavra in Kalavryta (Greece).
