Catholics changed the Bible. They added the NT writings to the Hebrew Scriptures that they received in the 1st cent. They then canonized Sacred Scripture–the OT and NT–in AD 382.

From a Protestant source, The Oxford Dictionary of the Christian Church (2nd ed., edited by F.L. Cross & E.A. Livingstone, Oxford Univ. Press, 1983, p.232):

The canon of Scripture is important, as it is that which nourishes and regulates the Christian religion.
There ARE over 80 references in the New Testament to the books that protestants removed from the Bible.

See here for a list.

When Protestants charge that Catholics added books at Trent, it’s important to point out that there has never, ever been an authoritative (that is, via a Council or pope) recognition of the Protestant canon. At no point in Church history did she point to the current Protestant canon and say “this is the canon of scripture”. The Protestant canon has zero historical support.

The New Testament references books that Luther removed. Protestant Bibles contained these books up until the 1800’s when a wave of nativism stomped on the last remaining “Catholic” traces in the Bible. They’ve been there since before Christ, the NT references them as scripture, they existed in Christianity for thousands of years, all Apostolic Churches use them. I mean it’s not even debatable.
