Who designed Solomon’s temple was it David with the guidance of the Lord, or was it God himself that designed it?

The reason why I ask is because if statues were bad and David designed the temple with God’s guidance then you would think that David would put any statues in the temple.

The prototype for the Temple in Jerusalem, The first (and second) Temple, would have been the Tabernacle of Moses in the desert, which was designed by God. So they just increased the proportions and used stone and timber in place of the temporary (and movable) setup they had in the desert.

1 Chronicles 28:11-19 talks about the plan David gave to Solomon for the Temple “by the writing from the hand of the LORD” (v. 19), including what appears to be the plan for the large cherubim statues, “the golden chariot of the cherubim that spread their wings and covered the ark of the covenant of the Lord.” (v. 18)

Well, it wasn’t Hiram Obiff. (Very few people will get that joke.) Yeah, it was God, through Solomon.
