I have a friend who posted this on Facebook, and im not quite sure how to come up with a good answer for this. Any suggestions??

“why do people stand so strong to their religion? Christians say that those who do not believe on their God are damned to hell. Yet there are Muslims, Hinduisms, etc. who say the same about opposing religions. So which is it? Who can be sure they’re right and everyone else has lived in lies? So many religious heads say they are prophets, can they all be lying about hearing god in prayer?”

God the Father is the God of all gods and no one can approach Him but through His Son Jesus Christ. No matter what you may have been brought up to believe, no matter what you’ve chosen to reject or accept, ultimately you will be judged by Him and by His standards. Fortunately for us all, He is both just and merciful.

I’m afraid if you’re searching for a logical, evidential answer to this, there is nothing concrete in the eyes of an unbeliever to be found. Ultimately, we trust the Word that has been revealed to us over thousands of years, and that Sacred Tradition has preserved it in pristine condition so that we may not be led astray, and that through living Tradition, we actively keep it alive.

But another thing, and the much more direct answer to the question, is that it is no one’s place to say who will and will not go to Heaven or Hell; that choice is God’s and God’s alone. We have no say in what He decides.
