Who invented evil?

Satan became evil through his free will, God didn’t make him that way.

Basically, evil came into the world through our decision to reject God, because we have free will and, if we so choose, we can do that.

That depends, in part, on how strictly we define create. Evil could be “created” insofar as an absence or lack could be created, but not as a positive thing in itself. We might say that’s not true creation, or that creation is only truly done when it’s from nothing in which sense only God can create at all. But in less strictly defined talk we use the word create more loosely.

I should amend my posts to say that I’m speaking of physical evils, not moral evils.

I form the light, and create darkness:

I make peace, and create evil:

I the Lord do all these things.

Isaiah 45:7
Verse 7

Create evil, &c. The evils of afflictions and punishments, but not the evil of sin. (Challoner) — I afflict and comfort my people.

Respectfully opinion only confused with ones post 🤔 What about one who has poor morals (conscious> thoughts) which leads to being the root of doing physical evils?

House divided cannot stand? half and half >>one is neither? lukewarm?
Lack wholeness<<>> James is speaking about in his Epistle? Seek to restore ourselves to wholeness within…then we can>>>> Love Me with your whole Heart Soul and Mind>> controls our physical actions, controls our tongue, our speech, determines our personal morals and behaviors actions taken >> toward others good or bad, good or evil?
Jesus came to show and teach us evil is>>>>>an act of a higher power of ones mind, thoughts, comes out from within, our choices>Prov 7:19 Jesus teaching on moral evils?

St Peter tells us for a reason does he not?
St Peter 3:16?> keep ones conscious clear and hands busy and you shall do well? Truth vs Lies also? Impure thoughts lead to evil physical actions?

Matthew 5:27-28 You have heard it said, You shall not commit adultery. But I say to you everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart…

Mark 7:21-23?> all theses evils come from within and defile a man
Like being half of a rotten apple?
A little leaven spoils the >>>>whole>> batch

Just pondering 🤔

God never made us or the angels robots!! Altho it is
tempting to attribute evil to Him, free will means evil
is POSSIBLE, the Fall of the angel Lucifer is Pride,
that the Woman,(Rev. 12) a human would be elevated
above him prompted satan to say:“I will NOT serve”,
in contrast to Mary’s fiat “I will do as You say”, both
at the annunciation, throughout her life AND at the foot of
the cross. She is OUR model of submission to God’s
good, pleasing and perfect will(Rom. 12:2)

God permits evil, God does not create evil.
Respectfully opinion only when pondering 🤔 what one has stated.

Our Heavenly Father would not be all Holy, all Righteous, if he permitted evil or invented evil, would he?

Our Heavenly Father created what was good, very good, did he not?

Human beings having been given, the gift of Free will, are the ones who invented evil, by their own thoughts, words and deeds, have they not?

There are so many Bible verses, of His Spoken Word, teaching us, instructing us not to join to evil associations, for those who join to share in what evils they committed, is this not written, true?

Ecclesiates 9:3 the hearts of people are full of evil madness in their hearts…
2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be yoked with…
Ephesians 5:11 Have nothing to do with fruitless deeds of darkness…

He Spoke, Spoken, since the beginning of time, he calls >out>>Let those who have ears hear what the Holy Spirit says to…

John 18:36 Jesus said: " My Kingdom is not of this world"

So many bible verses within His Spoken Word he is >not of this world<, is there not?

So our Perfect, Loving Father who is all Holy, All Righteous, All Truth
He does not >join to evil
He does not >permit evil
< created evil
He does not >>allowed nor tolerate, such evils to exist or to enter into His
Kingdom
Where Peace, Harmony and Righteousness lives, does it not?
John 18:36 >>My kingdom is not of this world…

Whose’s World below, Kingdom belong to?
Who is in charge?
Who has been given Free Will?
Who has created, invented such evils?
Who are permitting and allowing such evils to continue to exist, within this world. within this Kingdom?

Pondering 🤔
Would Our Heavenly Father be asking us instead?>>
Why have you created such evils within your Kingdom?
Why have you permitted such evils to continue in your Kingdom?
Why have you allowed such evil to exist within your Kingdom?
Why have you failed to do nothing about such evils within your Kingdom?
Do not believe our Heavenly Father, would ever take away, His gift of Free Will from us, would He? Why? >

That would hold>> Our Heavenly Father>>fully responsible, accountable for the creation of such evils and for allowing, permitting such inhumane evils to continue to exist, within your Kingdom, would he not?

What he has gifted us with, was a Kingdom that was good, very good, why have you destroyed the very goodness I have given you freely, to equally share in such Freedoms>> to experience Love, Peace and Joy within?

Thus written many times>>>My Kingdom is not of this World.
No such evils is allowed to enter in, or exist nor is permitted within My Kingdom.

Peace 💗

I cannot follow I’m sorry.
Basic stuff.

God does not create evil. God is the good.
God permits evil.
It’s a little like asking if the sun makes dark. As other posters have proposed,

God’s permissive will
God’s perfect will.

When people hear, “God allowed this to happen”, it isn’t that God caused the problem. It would be contradictory to His nature. I believe that free will was created by God, so that we wouldn’t be forced to love Him.
Evil exists so that we have a choice to love. And evil intentions/actions are temptations of the devil.

Respectfully opinion only in pondering:thinking:
Question>maybe looking for evil in the wrong place maybe?
Misunderstanding of the word sa - tahn or Ha satan , satan over time, its original definition and meaning maybe?

Can the word and its meaning be?.
One who is a adversary against another?
One who intentionally persecutes others?
One who falsely accuses others?
One who slanders others?
One who is jealous of others?
One who being an adversary, who seeks to tempt or stop others from doing good maybe?
One who seeks to put obstacles in the way of those seeking to bring about good?
One who tempts others to do their will what is not good for them?
Being human beings we are weak within?

Matthew 16:23 Jesus turned and said to Peter get behind me satan! You are a stumbling block to me you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human…Was Peter trying to tempt Jesus or stop Jesus from doing good?
Notice>>Jesus stating>>you do not have in mind the concerns? Ones thoughts?

Jesus would know what the true meaning of this word satan, used in OT used how and where in OT?

Why does Jesus always teach us to Look within? Know thyself?

Repeated
Matthew 4:10 Get behind me satan!
Luke 4:8-18 Get behind me satan!
Mark 8:33 Get behind me satan

Many bible verses about get behind me satan?

Jesus came in the flesh, human form, did he not also become tempted being within maybe his thoughts?
Was Jesus not tempted experiencing human thoughts?
Being tempted to change his choices, temptation of attain all wealth? riches? to choose what was not good, for self interest?
But he conquered that battle within, his own thoughts did he not?
To teach us, you can do it also, teaching how and to do the same maybe?

Our Heavenly Father could of made it clearly sailing for Jesus while on earth could he not?

Jesus did he not greatly experience, suffering in the flesh?
Jesus did he not also suffer the agony of death in the flesh?
Jesus was he also tempted by those and what was around him, what existed? Jesus was he not falsely accused by his adversaries all around him?
Jesus was greatly persecuted by those around him?
Jesus did he not have obstacles put in his path from those around him, tempting him, to stop him from doing good?
Thus his adversaries, his persecutors, those who sought to tempt him, those who slandered him, thus they crucified him?

There is a saying is there not?
“Worry not who the anti-christ is, be far more worried that the anti-christ does not live in you” unquote

Just opinion maybe looking in the wrong place, when it comes to discussing who invented evil, or who is satan maybe?

Know Thyself?

If we change our harden hearts of stone and become the fullness of Love within, make an internal change, stop feeding evil, evil would no longer exist? 🤔

Peace

Once you pick your goal of your world view, you can have “ought” and “is” statements. So world views with a social goal can have “ought” and “is” statements about morally.
Mistakes vs evil in reference to the goal of that world view seem to be differentiated by the level of knowledge of actions that are detrimental to the goal of your world view. “Mistakes” are people being convinced they have picked the best pathway towards the goal of their world view but it ends up causing more problems than it solved. This is just being ignorant of that choice. “Evil” actions are where people knowingly pick the pathway counter to the goal of their world view to intentionally impede the progress society and other people have advanced towards that goal. That’s how I understand things.
So to your question of “who” invented evil? We did. We needed a label for the actions of people that have convinced us that they fully understood that their actions were to impede our progress towards our goal of human well-being through various world views. The idea of pointing at superstitious mythical entities is just a distraction.
Russell, I’m sorry but that is just relativism empty of morality.
Morality is an evaluation of human acts in reference to the objective good.

You could summarize your entire paragraph as “whatever…”

Who set the goal of world view?

Which world view’s goal one chooses?

Maybe as starters we should present each world’s view respectively for comparison.
