Who is Alcuin?

Who is the early Christian Alcuin? I was able to find very little about him with brief search…maybe one of you knows.

His Scripture commentary is included here among Augstines and Chrysostom’s and others.

Answered my own question. I think the reason I couldn’t find much is cuz I didn’t type his name in right.

If anyone else happens to be curious…he was an 8th century theologian.

Proper title is Alcuin of York and he was far more than a theologian. He was a renaissance man in every sense of the word and, indeed, was responsible for the Carolingian Renaissance of the late 8th century. He also standardized the writing style of the period - Carolingian.
