al-Dajjal is the Arabic word for the Antichrist. It’s a title, not a name, so it’s proper to refer to him as the Dajjal and not just Dajjal.
I don’t know if there are any differences between the Christian and Islamic understandings of the term but Arabic-speaking Christians use it to refer to the Antichrist.
In Lebanese colloquial it also means someone who tries to start a fight between people, and also a general troublemaker.

He’s a man who is the false Messiah in the Islamic traditions. If I remember correctly, he’s not unequivocally mentioned in the Qur’an, but in the Sunni Hadiths, which are the oral traditions of the Sunni faith, he is mentioned all the time. According to Islam, he will claim to be the Messiah and then claim to be God. He will be blind in one eye and will have the word “Kaffir”, which means “disbeliever” written on his forehead. He will persecute muslims, too.
