What’s your best dish or favorite memories of cooking?
Me and my wife have just become passionate about cooking lately and have been practicing French recipes.

My favorites memories of cooking are when we cook with my husband for a large numbers of people (40- 50 people). He has under his supervision 10 people. It was for our marriage, our parish’s christmas and our daughter’s christening.

And of course, as we are french, it was more or less french recipes.

It was very stressfull, so the happy memories are the satisfaction to have succeed! 😀

I love to cook, and create new dishes. My best dish is usually the latest one that I create. 🙂

My whole family loves to cook but we don’t make fancy meals. Mostly Mexican and Bolivian foods, but we also like making homemade pizza and chili.

Tonight we made nopales con huevos and black beans. Nothing fancy at all but nutritious and delicious. This weekend we are making tamales to take to the Veterans home to celebrate Veterans Day. With this being the 100th anniversary of the end of World War 1, it is a very big Veterans Day this year.

Do you mean the traditional Sicilian cake?

My mom would make cassata.

Sponge cake, with a ricotta cream topping and candied citrus and chocolate. And then scented with almond liquor.

Her version was a bit different than the famous traditional one. She didn’t put in marzipan.

I live eggplant parmigiana! My wife made an eggplant and chorizo rigatoni last night.

Sadly my mother didn’t write this down anywhere.

I haven’t been able to get it just right. Mine doesn’t come out as good as hers did. 😦

Maybe tomorrow I’ll bake a sponge cake.

the ice cream , three layers,
there is another that is a wonderful Italian dessert, one of my favs, Tiramisu.

Pique Macho (fried potatoes, sausages (I use hot dogs), beef strips, onion, chiles, sweet peppers, salt, garlic, cumin). Guess it’s kind of like stir fry? I also like to make Salteñas. They are kind of like empanadas. Humitas are Bolivian tamales. When I would visit my grandparents there we ate guinea pig, but most people in the US would NEVER do that.

I love to cook, and do most of the cooking for my family. I think everyone’s favorite is either jambalaya or bbq ribs.

The best book I can recommend (plenty of pictures and excellent recipes from all over Europe) is Ferran Adria’s “The Family Meal”.
