Who took care of Mary after Ann and Joachim died?

I am taking a course on Mary. As I read that Mary went 80 miles to visit Elizabeth after she became pregnant, I thought that was a hack of a long way and I would think she would first want the comfort of her mother and dad. I saw on the internet that Ann was 24 when she married Joachim who was 46 years old. They waited 20 years before they had Mary. Joachim died 3 1/2 years after Mary was born (he died age 69 1/2) and Ann died 4 years after Mary was born ( she was 48 when she died).

This made me think who raised Mary from age 4 to ~ 14 when she married St. Joseph?

Dear friend,

We just don’t know the specifics of Mary’s home life, let alone the dates of her parents’ deaths. Whoever is teaching the course is giving you information that is highly unreliable. If there existed such information that is reliable, the Church would have made it know a long time ago.
