Out of all people in human history to discuss why you believe what you do, who would you want to meet (hypothetically) face to face? (I have excluded Jesus because …)

I am also curious to know if you think there is a risk to your current religion by having such a conversation.

If you exclude Jesus, then I would like to speak to His Mother Mary.

As a Catholic woman and mother myself, I feel that she would be best able to guide me and instruct me in the best and most perfect way to follow her Son.

Definitely Mary! Who else knew Jesus better?

And as I type this I am know thinking perhaps St. Peter…he was ordained…

I can guess how the Catholcis will vote but I’m hoping other faiths will share their views too. I think Abraham would also an interesting talk.

I would definately take Mary, SHE’S THE MOTHER OF GOD FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!

Heh, the Queen of Heaven? Our Blessed Mother? Yup, that’s the one I want to talk to.

While most of the Apostles ran away, Our Blessed Mother stayed at the Cross never leaving Our Lord. She was the one who held in her arms the body of her Beloved Son. No doubt - she is the Queen of Heaven and my #1 choice.
:heaven:

I would like to talk to Mary Magdalene since she was the first to see Jesus after the Resurrection and the first to spread the Good News of His Resurrection.👍

God Bless!

Other - St. Stephen…the first martyr and my patron Saint. If not then definitely Mary though.

I looked at it, more who would I want to talk to in the present, and my answer would probably be a trusted spiritual adviser, so I voted other. Otherwise, I’m like everyone else, probably Mary.

haha…At least I gave Luther one vote.

What the heck with the Mary thing? Ok, ok, I know I know it’s a Catholic forum. But somehow I think at least friggin Peter knew a bit more about ultimate truth.

Sheesh.

My Luther vote was a joke, of course. It would really be St. Paul.

Mary was the Mother of God though…just think about that title for a moment. It is hard to not discover why the person Our Lord chose to be his earthly mother would be considered the ultimate spiritual guide.

The Bible already contains great examples of Mary’s wisdom. My signature being one of them, and another being “Do whatever He tells you.”

I was really surprised by the overwhelming draw to Mary as well.

I instantly picked St. Paul. I love his straight forwardness and passion he had for the faithful. I’ve always really like him. 😃 In fact, I think I will read a bit of St. Paul before I fall asleep tonight. Perhaps I will get some spiritual clarity. 🙂

I picked St. Paul, with St. Peter a close second. Luther, of course would be important to me. I, for one, am not surprised by the majority choice for the Blessed Virgin. She was, afterall, with Him all the way.

Do you think Peter would confirm Luthers thoughts and actions?

Veri and Jon: Could you take the debate on Luther to a new thread, please? It kind of detracts from this one. 🙂

Paul definitely. He has the clearest mind, (with the exception of Jesus).
