James the son of Alpheus,(Clophas) was one of the twelve apostles. Jude the apostle was considered to be the brother of James the son of Alpheus (Clophas). Thus two sons of Mary and Clophas were considered to be apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. “Joses” or Joseph is also considered to be the son of Mary and Clophas. (Mark 15:45). So now we have what it appears to be three sons of Mary and Clophas.
Furthermore, Hegesippus (170AD) states that Clophas was the uncle of our Lord Jesus Christ, and Simon, the son of Clophas became the second bishop of Jerusalem after James the brother of the Lord was martyred. Hegisippus states that Simon lived to be age of 120. However, Hegeisippus does not state that Simon was the brother of James, the first bishop of Jerusalem. Hegesippus was a Jewish Christian and he apparently quotes from an historical writing.

Matthew’s gospel states James, Jude, Joses and Simon were brothers of the Lord.
This Catholic website conjectures that the four sons of Mary and Clophas lived with Mary and Jesus after Clophas died.

So what could we conclude from this? Either James the apostle, the son of Clophas was one of the four brothers who lived with Mary and Jesus Christ after Clophas, their father died. Then later he became the first bishop of Jerusalem.
Or, their were two James who were associated with Mary and Jesus within their family. James the Less, the apostle and son of Mary and Clophas, and James the brother of the Lord, son of Joseph.
Or even more improbable, is that Joseph had four other sons whose names were identical to the names of the sons of his brother, Clophas.
