Has anyone ever made a pilgrimage to Rome? Was it a good experience?
Got any stories, photos, etc. that you could share?
Thanks!

This is kind of interesting, am I odd for wanting to see it? There is another similar crypt in Sicily, past religious are preserved after their death in these catacombs. Spooky. Some of the best ten days of my life.
First. Italy itself is amazing, that alone makes it great. Add in the Roman ruins, the monuments, shrines, churches, culture, museums-incredible.
I recommend two places to absolutely visit:
Immaculata Concenzione, the “bone church.” Entire crypt church is made of human bones. Whoa!
Santa Croce in Gerusalemme: St. Helen’s old palace, built entirely on Jerusalem soil(hence “in Jerusalem”). Home to relics of the Holy Cross, two Thorns, one Nail, and the cross of the Good Thief (Bona Latronis).
The prices right now for airfares are great! I just may go around that time myself. I need to visit some relatives in northern EU, so might as well make the best of it.Thanks for the (name removed by moderator)ut!
I asked because our diocese has a pilgrimage this November, and I’m considering going, if I can scrape up the money.
