I agree. However, PJM is also correct. It should not be labeled “Stupid Atheist Arguments” But “Catholic Doctrine for Atheists made Simple”
OK

Awww now I couldn’t resist - How bout?

Catholicism for atheist dummies. 😃 (don’t hurt me now) It’s just a joke.

Agreed.

I think you missed my point. We should make a list of stupid atheist arguments and make a sticky.
AGREED:D

I have been involved in The C A Forum for about six months. Because I have come to the same conclusion as you, I have written replies to many often asked questions, on my Words** File,** and simply “cut and paste” them when prudent to do so;)

It has not only been effective, but greatly reduces the fustrations that many of us feel, when confronted by, shall we say, professional posters:blush:

God bless you my friend!

i thought about making a similar list of arguments and their accompanying refutation.

maybe even a life cycle of the atheist experience here, what series of arguments they typically use until they leave. its becoming a fairly standard pattern. a little research and we could make cut and paste arguments. save us time, explaining to each new atheist that shows up the refutations, common objections and then a lifecycle atheistic argumentation

I like the way you think my friend, thanks :tiphat:

On the contrary there is a mountain of evidence that both God exists and Jesus is who He claims to be. The problem is some folks choose to ignore the evidence and regard everything they see and hear as myths

For one Jesus had the 12 Apostles as eye witnesses to His miracles, plus many more disciples who may have also been first hand witnesses to His work. Yes, the Gospels may have been written years after the events, but they were probably taken from first hand accounts of eyewitnesses to the events.

Second many of the saints have experienced visions of Jesus or Mary, all testifying to the same details or revealing more details. The fact that these saints led holy and upright lives bear witness to the veracity of their claims. Could they have been delusional or lying ? Yes, but would they ? not very likely, just based on the strength of their moral character.

Plus given the number of saints who have made such claims, maybe a few could have been delusional, but most probably not all.

Then look at the miracle workers throughout the ages, starting with Jesus and the Apostles, then with various saints in every century. Are these all hoaxes or idle claims ? Even today’s magicians and illusionist can’t do many of the things they did.

And let’s examine the physical evidence: bodies of saints that have not decayed for hundreds of years, without preservatives or embalming, hosts and wine that turned into human blood or heart muscle tissue, a cloak that has a miraculous image of Mary with details so fine that you can see the reflection of St. Juan Diego in Mary’s eye, a blind man who was healed by Padre Pio who sees perfectly well but has no pupils, hundreds of folks healed, the miracles abound and can fill many volumes.

The evidence is there but if you refuse to open your eyes, you will never see it. Real faith requires no evidence, but for those who do not believe, no mountain of evidence is ever enough. Ask the mother who bought her HIV infected child to the pool of Our Lady in Emmitsburg and on impulse dipped it into the water. She didn’t believe before, now she does.
