PBS has recently been airing a six-week special on Monty Python, showing “the best” of each member per episode.

So, I thought this would be a great time to ask all of you who your favorite “Python” is-and tell us why.

Also, feel free to tell us your favorite skit(s) from the show, or scenes from the movie.

I have many, but I especially love “The Ministry of Silly Walks”, “The Spanish Inquisition”, “The Fish-Slapping Dance” and “Ken Shabby”. :rotfl:

So, let us know what you think.

(By the way-I voted for Michael Palin)

John Cleese. If not for Monty Python then for Fawlty Towers!

Oh I love all of them - it’s like voting for a favourite child.

I like Gumby Brain Surgery (I say the line 'my brain hurts … ’ quite often) and ‘My theory’ by Ms Ann Elk (‘a dinosaur is thin on one end, much much MUCH thicker in the middle, and thin again on the other end …’)

Not to mention Life of Brian just in its entirety but especially the ‘he said Jehovah!’ scene … I wet myself every time I see it.

“That halibut was good enough for Jehovah!” :rotfl: :rotfl:

That’s a tough one, but I have to go for Graham Chapman. “What’s all this then?”

Back in the 80s, The Monty Python crew teamed up with Cheech and Chong, Marty Feldman, et al, to make a movie called Yellowbeard which was absolutely hillarious. John Cleese will always be my favorite Python, but Graham Chapman is a very close second.

‘… you’re only making things worse for yourself you know’

‘… worse, how much worse could it get? dancing around in loony fashion … Jehovah … Jehovah … Jehovah!’

Dont mention the war.
’ … we didn’t start it …’
’ … yes you did, you invaded Poland!’

’ … mentioned it once, but I think I got away with it!’

Yeah, the Jehovah scene is pretty good, but the Latin lesson from the Roman centurion is always the highlight for me. 😃

“People called Romans they go the house?” Said of course with a British accent…

“It says, ‘Romans go home!’”

“No it doesn’t…” haahaahaahaa…

“Conjugate the verb!”

“It will have to come out!”

And who can forget Gumby Theatre: (wham wham wham) “Come in!” (Crash, bang, boom) “NOOOOOO!!! Open the DOOR and come in!” “Coo-ee! Hel-lo! Shut up! My brain hurts!”
