I just want to say thank you to Tomyris for posting on CAF. I’ve learned so much from her, Guan, PR and others from the continued dialogue.

I keep you all in my prayers and ask that you do the same ( I do as a Catholic believe that your prayers are effacacious )

Scripture has a primacy because it is the only inspired word of God, which has God as its primary author

That is Catholic teaching,

which, I believe, you were unaware of until now.
I am astonished that you say this, yes. I am unaware that I was aware of this before reading this post.

Catholics seem to argue that Scripture and Tradition are intertwined and inseparable, and that due to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, deductions can have equal weight. Here I am talking about logical deductions, not tax deductions.

This is very close to Sola Scriptura as I read it. Surely not.

Don’t learn from me. Village idiot here in CAF-town.

Scripture is the only word of God that has God as its primary author and is said to be divinely inspired.

Tradition is referred to as being “assisted” by the Holy Spirit. It is NOT theopneustos.

Only Scripture is given that charism.

Now, again, what is the argument from silence? That revelation has ended with the death of the last apostle?

If so, then how is it that you give submission to this argument from silence?

Are you looking for a definition of the argument from silence, or what I am saying is the argument from silence?

You suddenly seem like you are backing Sola Scriptura. I am thoroughly confused.

** Why all the Fuss over 1000 posts?
Heck if I know, but that’s the company policy.
If you want to continue, start a sequel thread and I’ll put in the Hot Topic e-blast for this week.**

Your priorities are the right ones. You and your loved one’s will be in my prayers,
Thanks very much, Guanophore. I see “Fuss 2” has been started, so if I ever get caught up on this thread, perhaps that one will still be open for me to post in when things settle down in my family. The latest crisis here is that my well pump died in my private well yesterday; my neighbors most kindly gave me a case of bottled water and let me get water for my horses. Feeling a little weird about their offer of a shower, I declined for today, which I now regret. Be glad we’re on the internet and none of you all can smell me right now. :o 😊
