Why am I deemed anti-Semitic for encouraging the evangelization of Jews?

I have been called an “anti-Semite” because I believe that Jews must convert to the Catholic Church. I have seen and heard criticism of the pre-Vatican II church for trying to convert Jews. Even praying for the conversion of the Jewish people to the True Faith, Catholicism, is condemned.

What reason can be possibly given for calling me anti-Semitic? From my understanding, the Church teaches that the dogma of “extra ecclesiam nulla salus” which means “Outside the Church there is no Salvation.” In wanting the conversion of non-Catholics, which includes Jews, I feel I am living out my desire for the salvation of souls.

Who is saying you are anti-semitic, Catholics or Jews? I don’t know how to answer as i’m new and I don’t know enough about the subject. However, I am Jewish and converting, and I wanted to let you know I personally don’t feel you are anti-semitic. I’m very interested to read the answers you will receive. Take care!

It matters not what the other pieces of dust say of you. You would fare greatly to esteem their praise or criticism as nothing.

Simply stick with what the Church teaches and be honest with yourself. True solace comes from within, not from other mortals. Will the pieces of dust be judging you at Personal Judgement or will God be judging you at Personal Judgment?
