What makes me Catholic? It was by choice. Sort of. I grew up Protestant, but I believe God led me to become a Catholc. It took Him 9 years to get through to me. Well, if you don’t count the years before I started learning what the Catholic chuch really believed. I may not understand everything, but I don’t have to. Not that I’m ignorant, I’m just admitting my limitations. I don’t have to understand it all to be a Christian. If I were to understand everything, I’d have to be God. Since I’m not that, I’ll take God’s word to be accurate.

I am a catholic because the Catholic faith is the one true faith of the God of the Universe founded by Jesus Christ who instituted the sacraments and gave us the only means of salvation through Himself and His Church 🙂
Done 🙂

I made the choice to become Catholic because through research (historical, factual, and personal), I came to the conclusion that the Catholic Church is the only true Church. I severely disliked what I saw as disorganization and ‘sterility’ in the Protestant church I went to as an agnostic. I didn’t feel the presence of God in any of the services, or in the symbolic ‘Communion’. I never felt compelled to believe in Christianity if that was all it had to offer.

But then I found the Catholic Church. After going to my first Mass, I was floored by the order, the tradition, the structure. At that moment, I was convinced: If there was a proper way to worship the Lord, this was definitely it. I began my conversion almost immediately. Unfortunately, I had to move and that process was delayed, but now I’ve resumed. I pray that I will be received into the Catholic Church as soon as possible.

In short, I’m in the process of becoming Catholic because I knew in my heart that this was the real deal.

I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.

I am a Catholic because Jesus is a Catholic. I love the simplicity of our faith and the immense love we share together in God’s humble house on earth. The Church is open to everyone without prejudice. The Lord of Hosts serves with an endless outpouring of grace, mercy and love. True peace on earth!
  • The only Church instituted by Christ himself in person on earth
  • The largest single religious denomination in the world (1 billion ppl)
  • The largest resource of religious relics, artifacts, artwork, music and literature
  • Largest charity organization in the world
  • The most saints recognized and venerated on earth
  • The most persecuted institution. True evidence that the Church is one body in Christ through suffering and penance for redemption of all the world.
  • Powered by the Holy Spirit. She is the bride of Christ and the Church
  • The most divine and holy revelations handed to us by the Virgin Mary throughout the ages. Mary is the mother of Jesus and our mother. Mary is God’s greatest creature.
  • Unfathomable. There is no limitation discovering the mysteries the Church beholds.
Oh and the best one… Free membership 🙂

God bless you all

Because the Lord gave me the grace to understand that the Catholic Church is the one, holy, true Church which Jesus founded.

I am a catholic because________________:slight_smile:
It is the only church that possesses all four marks (id est one, holy, catholic/universal, and apostolic), because of Mary and because of the Holy Eucharist.❤️

OK, I’ll speak for what has appeared to me to be the silent majority’s opinion: I was raised as one and threatened with eternal torture if I questioned anything.

Not this Catholic.

I became Catholic because I have come to know and believe that Jesus Christ is the Messiah and the Catholic Church is the Church that he founded.

Discerning the Church which Christ founded; There are a few things we know about the church that He founded:
  1. It was founded by Jesus Christ himself (Matt 16:18) which means that the church He founded must be about 2000 years old. This fact alone eliminates the vast majority of the churches.
  2. Jesus handed His Authority to His Apostles (Mat 28:16-20), therefore His Church must be able to trace it’s chief pastors back in a line of succession to The Apostles.
  3. The Church which Jesus Christ founded is the one to whom He revealed and who declared and decreed which books are to be contained in the New Testament. So it must be the Church wich declared the Canon of the New Testament as we know it today.
  4. Jesus only built ONE church (Matt 16:18) hence there is only one.
