What makes a place more susceptible to being haunted than another?

By haunted, I mean inhabited by ghosts or at least temporarily. There are a number of places that are said to have, and right where I’m staying now (military camp for national service), there is ghostly activity (windows opening randomly, howls in the toilets at night) near my friend’s Bunk.

As God selects certain places , like Rome ,Lourdes ,Fatima ,Jerusalem, they are holy place ,like wise satan likes certain places ,where there is sin there is satan ,like the tombs and desearted places and houses

when there is a strong wind there is the same howling and windows open randomly.
There is difference between dead human spirits who died in mortal sins and are damned souls and evil spirits .If your sure about it then it could be.

The windows were sealed shut. Even if they weren’t, it’s hard to make them budge apart from direct physical force

There are most definitely areas and houses that are demonically infested. My own house had issues.

Ok ,are the things moving ,like books falling or hearing footsteps or hearing voices ,or is any one choking his neck ,we have to looks for the signs to discern these actives.Try to get some Holy Water and sprinkle it or if a Catholic priest come on Sundays to offer Mass ask him to get the place blessed or say an exoticism prayer and another idea came to my mind ask him to offer a mass for the souls in purgatory also as Pope John Paul sent a team of priest to say an exorcism prayer and Mass said in the place of the Bermuda triangle and the voices where never heard again ,i think he needs permission from the Bishop for that .

This reminds me of Padre Pio tells a story of how a large candelabrum was regularly knocked down in his church by unseen hands. On investigation Padre Pio discovered that it was the soul of a dead novice who had been careless in his religious observances and was stuck in purgatory and needed prayers. Pio said mass and the soul was freed. This is not so unusal an event, I often hear of such goings on ,some even stranger.
Safe with no fear ,like a gentle touch
i think she has body though ,some people do experience her while praying the rosary like smell of roses lilies or jasmine ,and at the hour our death.

The Blessed Virgin Mary was assumed into heaven body and soul. This is very different to any other saint who is only present as a soul.

However, it does not put any credibility in them.
We must be very careful , as Catholics, in describing the Virgin. And given no one has touched Mary at Fatima or Lourdes or Guadeloupe, for example, it is a big assumption to say there is only spiritual form. It’s more accurate to say the form is supernatural.

This only confirms that evil spirits as in fallen angels, demons, masquerade as ghosts to people conjuring. God warns us against doing this , as evidenced by your Biblical quotes.

Its about warning not to consult ghosts or dead human spirits who are damned souls who died in mortal sins and not in a stated of Grace .Isaiah 8:19 Now if people say to you, “Consult the ghosts and the familiar spirits that chirp and mutter; should not a people consult their gods, the dead on behalf of the living,

Fr Mike does a good job answering this I think.
Members of my family have had multiple experiences involving ghosts, usually not too scary. My mom was once in a basement of a historic building when she saw a man standing in front of her in old fashioned clothes. She and my dad were the only ones in the building at the time…:frowning_face_with_open_mouth:

No, the activities so far have been of a low level. Since I’m in a military camp, it is a highly secular place and I don’t think the military officers would take well to the the entry of a Catholic Priest, especially since the many of us Recruits are from different religions (this may spark conflict since each religion has their own methods of getting rid of spirits). I could try speaking with my officer about this, though, and see what he says.

I don’t like the term “haunting “ as it is important to try to figure out what is going on and whether it’s demonic or involving a soul in Purgatory.
We do not believe in the concept of ghost as a spirit of a dead person trapped or living indefinitely on the earth because it can’t find its way to the afterlife or whatever. If God allows a dead person’s soul to manifest on earth it’s for a reason and for a limited time determined by God. Otherwise it’s a demon.

Ok, i understand ,or you could just sprinkle holy water without any one noticing and use sacramental s like your Benedict medal or the miraculous medal ,and say prayer .Pslam 27
