I don’t understand why God would let Moses tell his people they can get divorced, among other things, and then make Jesus come along and tell them they can’t. It seems like Jesus came along and changed everything. I don’t understand why God didn’t just tell them to do everything this way in the first place.

Can someone please explain this to me?
Thanks

Jesus said it was Moses who allowed divorce because of the’hardness of their hearts" and in the beginning it was not so.You have a partial answer right there…There are many things that change over the ages.Polygamy is another one.Suffering was thought to be a punishment from God for sin Job pointed in another direction as did the prophets.God doesn’t change but our view , our perspective and our understanding of Him does .Or He feeds us as much as we are capable of taking.

People aren’t as smart as God. We take time to learn things.
