Yes and No. Mostly NO.First, it’s a lot of hours spent vegging! Second, and more impotant, is that Discovery gladly fronted the anti-Christian DaVinci-like hatchet job on the tomb of “Jesus”. It didn’t affect those of strong faith, but it remains an attack. It was so badly researched and investigated that the Weekly World News threatened a suit against Discovery for copying their reporting style.![]()
Let me tell you about my typical day…
I get up at 6 am. I work online (actually get PAID to edit online) (and check this site) for about an hour. The kids get up, get fed and driven to school. I then work from home for another hour, or so. Then I go to work at school for several hours. Then it’s running kids home from school and to activities if necessary. At home, the TV comes on for Cash Cab and Animal Planet while I’m making dinner and the kids are decompressing and doing homework. We laugh together and enjoy the Cash Cab trivia and animal planet antics.
Then I return to to editing work on the computer and help kids with homework until midnight. I usually fall asleep around 1-1:30 while watching Forensics Files or The Investigators.
Saturdays I work in the mornings, but before starting, cuddle with my boys and watch Survivor Man or Man vs Wild. Sometime during the weekend we will catch MythBusters together and discuss science. My son LOVES the History Channel and devours it like candy. We watch the Office when we remember and of course, we wouldn’t think of missing the Simson’s and Family Guy on Sunday nights.
So…Po18Guy, if you think that is “excessive”, I am sorry. I think it is necessary decompressing after VERY long days of work 6 am to 1 am EVERY DAY (every day of the week – this in all done so we can afford to pay tuition for Catholic school). It is also something FUN and INTERESTING to share with my boys. Rarely am I just sitting and watching. I am either 1)working 2)making dinner 3)cleaning 4)cuddling 5)falling asleep or 6)enjoying sharing something with my family.
I guess I fail to see that that is “a lot of vegging”. I see it as trying to hang onto a little of my sanity.
