There is currently instruction NOT to kneel after the Lord’s Prayer and until everyone has received communion.
I simply cannot conform to this. I think that one must go to ones knees in prayer prior to receiving and once again go to prayer in thankgiving and prayer for those yet to receive after, I myself, has received.
To stand and sing hymns removes a MOST important “connection” with our Lord.
What is the reasoning behind this.

Anne,

The first link should explain why your bishop is able to require those in your diocese to stand from the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) through the reception of communion. The second two should put your refusal to conform with your bishop’s directives into perspective. If you have any further questions or concerns that are not answered by this link, please contact Catholic Answers directly.
