Why ask Mary or the Saints?

Thank you for explaining that for me it makes better sense now and I have one more question and again is not meant to be rude I’m just giving my point of view and then trying to understand yours. Here is my question I have hear several Catholics say you have to go through Mary to get to Jesus me as a Protestant this very strange for me why can’t I just pray to God. I can kinda see what you guys are saying from your explanations that Mary and the Saints helps us better relay what we want to God threw the power of the Holy Spirit.From what I’m getting is that Mary and the Saint are helps in prayer but not a necessary or is it the other way around they are necessary and helps in prayers.

God has made us one family, one body in Christ, so we all help each other according to the gifts/ministries God has given us. So, we ask for the intercession and heavenly aid of those in heaven because we believe what the Church has taught from the beginning, that we are a part of the “communion of saints”. Having said that, you are right that we do not need to invoke Mary and the saints. God does indeed hear our prayers. I recite the daily prayer of the Church by praying Morning and Evening Prayer in which the closing prayer always asks our petitions be answered by God the Father through the name of Jesus his Son, our Lord and Savior, in union with the Holy Spirit. Mary and the Saints are great helps, especially Mary whose position with Chirst is unique, being his mother, but it was Jesus who gained our redemption and made possible our salvation, so we pray in and through his name. I hope that helps.

YES!

Expounding on my previous post, why do you (the OP) suppose that the Holy Spirit gives various gifts to people for the building up of His Church? Couldn’t He give the same gifts to all, or even do these good works Himself? Of course He could, but He wants us to help one another & to rely on one another, always through Him.
