Doesn’t the fact that he is no longer permitted to teach as a Catholic Theologian suggest to you that maybe he was not the most reliable guide to the Faith?
I’ve never suggested he is the most reliable guide to the faith. I simply wanted to clarify that he is not excommunicated and that, at least among scholars of religion, he is still an influential voice in theology.
