Why can't you keep cremains at home?

Where can I find the Catholic rationalization for having a proper place of repose for cremated remains? My husband is insisting that he wants me (if he dies before I do), to keep his cremated remains at our home. I know the the reasons, but I need to actually SHOW him. He refuses to take my word for it. Thank you for your help.
