I don’t understand why devil refuse salvation and grace and all the goods from God for all eternity, why he will this stupidity…

Simply because he wanted his own power and wanted to be above everyone.

Pride. He chose to reign in Hell rather than to serve in Heaven.

I recall reading that if a human could somehow perceive an angel, he would absolutely believe it was God, so magnificent and beautiful they are.

Ste Therese of Lisieux believed that everyone in hell is a volunteer and that central to that is the decision to worship oneself for all eternity even thought the person knows he is not equal to God.

For a human, that seems pretty shabby as an alternative. But to the greatest angel of them all? He worships himself and compels others to worship him as his revenge against God for being God when he isn’t.

Kind of hard to picture, but not impossible.

I believe it’s stated by some saints that demon’s Will’s are locked since the moment of creation and cannot change them, as they had a full and complete understanding of all things since their creation and followed through with their decision anyway.

One interesting question is why the Devil sinned in the first place? It isn’t the same as the problem of Evil, as we already know that the Devil has Free Will, but in a good Creation and with the perfect example of God, before all corruption that came precisely because Original Sin, how could “he” choose evil? How could “he” be prideful?

We can trace back the origin of sin and evil in “him”, as “he” tempted Adam and Eve before they sinned, but I haven’t heard any theologian explain why “he” sinned more than saying “because of Free Will”.

He was full of pride. He thought he was better than God and everyone else, and wanted power.
