Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Perhaps some of you have read the book, “Calls” From the Message of Fatima by Sister Lucia. If not, I strongly encourage you to read this beautiful last book of the oldest of the three shepherd children of Fatima to whom Our Blessed Mother appeared. I’ve linked the title to Amazon, but you may be able to purchase it from a local bookstore without the added videos on Fatima. I’ve not seen the videos and can’t recommend them, not having seen them, but the book itself is one I keep going back to for inspiration.
In chapter 13 - “The Call to devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary”, Sister Lucia wrote these words she heard from Our Lady of Fatima:
“To establish in the world devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary means to bring people to a full consecration through conversion, self-dedication, intimate esteem, veneration, and love. Thus it is in this spirit of consecration and conversion that God wishes to establish in the wold devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary…” from page 135
Sister continues and ends the chapter on page 137. I’m not going to copy the entire chapter here but I did want to include one more short paragraph:
“…It was in this Heart that the Father placed His Son, as if in the first tabernacle. Mary was the first pyx that held Him, and it was the blood of her Immaculate Heart which communicated to the Son of God his life and his human nature from which we all receive ‘grace upon grace’…” (Jn 1,:16) – from p. 136.
As we approach the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima on May 13, let us ponder the words Sister has shared with us. By God’s Grace, may we consecrate ourselves fully (if we have not already done so) or re-consecrate ourselves and persevere in our ongoing conversion to give ourselves completely to Jesus through Mary. May we dedicate ourselves and give our Mother the intimate esteem, veneration and love Jesus gave to her and enables us to give her.
Let us thank Jesus for giving Mary to us as Mother and Model, and learn from her to make our hearts tabernacles of purest love for Him to enter and remain, may we also be like a golden pyx used to carry the Eucharist to the sick, as we carry Him in our hearts to all we meet.
Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us and for the world so in need of Jesus. Help us to carry Him in our hearts to all. as you did on this earth.
