In “David Is Persuaded to Bring Absalom Back”, 2 Samuel 14.1-27, Absalom has “three sons, and one daughter” (27). Then, in “The Defeat and Death of Absalom”, 2 Samuel 18.1-18, we read,
"2 Samuel 18.18:

"2 Samuel 18.18:
What happened to his three sons? Why doesn’t the narrative mention their death if they’ve died? Does it mean that he wanted his name “Absalom” to be remembered, and he didn’t give it to any of his sons? Now Absalom in his lifetime had taken and set up for himself the pillar which is in the King’s Valley, for he said, “I have no son to keep my name in remembrance”; he called the pillar after his own name, and it is called Absalom’s monument to this day.
