Why did God create a UNIVERSE that is suppose to come to an end?

Science says that the universe will come to an end.

Why did God create a universe that will come to an end, even though us humans will never be here to see it end?

There will be a “new Heaven” and a “new Earth”. All of this comes down to the studies of the end of the world, when Jesus Christ returns.

So the “new earth” will come even before the universe is suppose to scientifically end? Help me out here!

[1] I don’t know much about the end of the world/theology on Christ’s second coming
[2] The main QUESTION is: Why did God create a universe that is suppose to end, even though it won’t end (because there will be a new Earth and Heaven before that even happens billions of years ahead). 🤷

You might as well be asking, “Why did God created an Universe at all if none of us were there to witness its creation?” What God dose, He dose out of love and mercy. All of His works are crowned with mercy. Therefore, we should trust in the Lord, even when we do not understand Him.

Furthermore, science CANNOT dabble in theology. Once it dose, it becomes pseudoscience. I know it’s tempting to use science in order to understand theology or make theological discoveries, but that’s not what science is about. Science is about facts, theology is about truths.

Finally, NO ONE knows the time of the end of the world except the Father. Therefore, do not even try to calculate it. Just trust in the Lord.
 
Because sin affected the entire ‘cosmos’ (universe). I believe that God will bring the end before man is able to completely self destruct (IMHO). It is fitting that when mankind is resurected as a new creature that God recreate the heavens and the earth that are not afected by sin.
 
you have to go back to the start of things. God created Adam and Eve. The world should have been good, there should never have beem death. But then Adam and Eve sinned, they gave into evil. then the devil entered the world. The reason the world will end is not a bad thing, its a good thing. When the world ends God will destroy evil the devil. Then it will be a wonderful place, the way it should have been, happy, no suffering, no death. It will be great. But that is why God is going to end it, not our lives, (remember he died on the cross and took away death there is no death) he is going to end evil. There will no longer be sadness, hurt, suffering, we will live forever with everyone we love and who loves us.

The way i was taught the world will end as we know it. So you could be right. It will be the New Heaven and the New Earth, Only God knows when and how?
 
Probably the same reason He gave us Baby Teeth - a chance to practice before we get to the good ones.

The answer is in the NT 🙂 - all things hold together in Christ; are created by Him; are created for Him. So, His Glory, & His glorification by all creation:​

  • Philippians 2:5 Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus,
  • Phl 2:6 who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped,
  • Phl 2:7 but emptied himself, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.
  • Phl 2:8 And being found in human form he humbled himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross.
  • Phl 2:9 Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name which is above every name,
  • Phl 2:10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
  • Phl 2:11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
    are what creation is for - see Colossians 1 & Hebrews 1 (for example). The universe exists, not for itself as an end sufficient to itself, but only for its Head & Lord, Who is Christ. He is “the heir of the ages” & “the first-born of all creation”, & “the primacy in all things” is His. The fact of His Headship is a cosmic reality, & that goes a long way to giving a clue to the answer to the question 🙂
As Hebrews 1 reminds its readers, the universe wears out, which is something a Psalmist had noted - & is something St. Paul says as well, in one of the letters to the Corinthians; Romans 8 has something on this, where it speaks of how “the creation was subjected to futility, not for its own sake”.
 
Perhaps it isn’t so much an end, as a fulfillment. We have to trust that God knows best, and does best.

Otherwise, what’s the point?

The important thing is that our universe will end [death] long before the universe. We need to focus on the former.😉

Yes you are probably correct. My point is that if God so chooses the end of the universe to be tommorrow, there are those who would claim deception, since science would indicate that that is not what is going to happen. The same can be said of the beginning of the universe and of those who claim that science can accurately put an age on it.
 
here is a question I have for all of you. Why do you put so much trust in what science says is going to happen to the universe in so many years?? God created the universe and man for himself. He wants us all to live in glory with him forever. Why should we be concerned why God created the universe the way he did. Some of this may be revealed to us if and when we get to heaven. Somethings we are not to know just yet.

Doesn’t that just kill you. And heres the best part for hundreds of year this is the end, then oh no we mean in ten more years, then the signs the signs. But then there is one sentence.

NO ONE KNOWS THE DAY EXCEPT THE FATHER. God even told us people will try to predict this, not to listen to them. Now isn’t it amazing what God wrote in the beginning is still true. But like you said God created the universe for his own reason. And only God can end it.
 
You know this just made me think of something. My Dad always said that what God is telling us is to be ready, Like the thief in the night story. If the man knew he would have been ready. We must be ready now, and if we are not we better get back to chruch repent and get ready.

Now my Mother said the world as we know it, because thats what the Bible says not the world will end, the world as we know it will end… she says it right now. at this moment for someone. Isn’t that the truth. She says every second someone dies. We could be next. Now that could be what the thief in the night story means.

But remember when the biggie comes it is going to be wonderful, not horrible. JESUS WILL BE BACK FOR GOOD!
