As far as I know, Satan was an angel, important angel, and then he tried to get to God’s throne!! (I don’t know why God would need throne while he is a spirit?) and than this angel turned to Satan, But my question is, Why God even allowed this angel to stay a live in the first place? Also, God knows everything even before it happened, he know what I’m going to to from the moment I was born until the moment I die and he know all that before even I was born so he knew what this angel was going to do, and yet, he created it and than he turned it to satan and after that we are the humans who have NOTHING to do with this dramatic story, now are suffering from this evil that God created it and allow it to trick our parents, Adam and eve? WHY? I really can’t understand why?

I may be wrong but the reason that Lucifer falls is because of Pride, he does not try to obtain God’s throne but refuses to be a part of the plan of the incarnation. God becoming man. When God shares his plan of salvation through Jesus Christ being born of a woman, Lucifer refuses to bow to a lowly creature regardless of it being God incarnate.

You are right in that God knows all before it happens. That is a good question of why does he allow it still, why couldn’t he have thought of it…

Think about Judas… why did God still allow it even though it would bring a violent death to His Son? Because it is God’s plan. He knows and only He knows. We must wrap ourselves in Mystery and the Cross and run to Him with the gift of faith we choose and He bestows.

Remember He is Love and He doesn’t create evil, we choose it, and it can be in the form of a rebellious angel choosing it too. It illustrates how dangerous sin truly is. I for one am glad that God offers me a choice and doesn’t force salvation, it makes me grow in love and faith for Him. God willing I wish to continue to prove myself until He calls me home as a beloved Son of God.

Don’t worry too much over it, in God’s infinite time Jesus has already come back and the gates of hell didn’t prevail. We won!

God created the Angels, one of whom was Lucifer, which means ‘carrier of the light’.

Just as we have our choice to love God and to love other persons,
the Angels also had their opportunity to choose to love God and His other creatures, or to reject the love of God.

Just as some humans reject love and live selfishly, so did some angels, one of whom was the glorious Lucifer.

Take away the goodness and love in any creature, human or angel, and what is left is ugliness and unlove, hatred, bitterness, cruelty.

God created Lucifer the angel of light, Lucifer destroy that by his rebellion, pride, refusal to love God, so he chose to become a different kind of person, whom we call satan or the devil

The reason God allows satan to roam the earth seeking the destruction of souls, is to allow us to resist him in preference to God. By our faith we please God, and faith acted out is our love of God over loving evil.

Think of it this way. We know the character of people not by what they say but by what they do. It is easy to say I love you. But that isn’t proof. How much we are willing to put ourselves out for the other speaks for itself.

On the other hand, God loves us by giving us the opportunity to put our faith in practise. Because by this we merit greater grace, that is, a greater share in his divine life within our soul, and a therefore a greater measure of glory with him in heaven.

Along with this, the more we radiate with the grace of God, the more good we do others in the mystical body of Christ, helping them by the greater presence of God within us. In this way we help one another by our spiritual effects.

Just some thoughts.

Hello TheBreak;
what you you have asked has been a question put forward to me by someone I know. It was something that was preventing her from becoming a Christian.
Jesus said something that struck me as odd. We are to become as the angels in Heaven. So my question to God was why didn’t he make me as an Angel in Heaven to start with then? Jesus had to suffer and die for me. I put in my own protest to God about that. God’s plan is perfect. It always has been. perfect right at the very beginning.
I have heard it said that if God is perfect then how come his creation isn’t. By implication it means God has failed to create the perfect work. However before this world was, God had already made the kingdom of Heaven. God made the Heavenly angels. Lucifer was second only to God. Rightly or wrongly I believe God had warned Lucifer what would happen to him if he was given that position. I suspect Lucifer fell when he did not believe God. Lucifer fall? No chance of that! God was his best friend. He hasn’t believed God ever since. I believe God gave Lucifer the position to teach the angels in Heaven an important lesson that thy would carry with then forever. God knows best. His way is the best. The angels in heaven have witnessed what happens when God is not believed. Also in seeing evil they have learned to know and appreciate Gods’ love. The perfect work wasn’t designed to die. God’s intention was life.
If we are to become as the angels in Heaven then death provides what God could have given to us. It’s what he could have given the angels in Heaven.
The devil allows us to appreciate Gods’ love. It provides a measure that we can know God by.

That’s just a short of it. I am putting an article together that is more in depth. But I hope this has helped in some way.

In this cosmos as created there is no “thing” which can be called evil, no substance which has existed from all eternity to challenge God in any way, nor can there ever be a substance or being which is evil in its very being, by nature. Goodness and being are identical in this doctrine of creation, since any being, having been called out of nothingness by God, is good and insofar as it has being, is a testimony to God’s power
and to God’s love. Evil is rather the absence, or (even better) the corruption of the good, not itself a being or a substance but a defacement or deprivation of the good. Evil is a deficiency, not a substance of any sort, for that would mean it was a good, only an evil kind of good, if that means anything. This is a doctrine characteristic of Augustinian theology from its inception as we know it. It may seem to be a weak depiction of evil, until we consider its flip side, as it were. The Augustinian creation is, in a sense, so good and so beautiful that it is easy to mar or disfigure it, just as it would be easy to mar a priceless painting with only a small smear of the wrong color. This does not mean that the essential order of the universe, by which God has set it into being, can be undone. Evil defaces the one who causes it, and so the order of being is, in a sense vindicated. One cannot change it or will to change it without at the same time willing oneself to be less than one was created to be–since the order of creation constitutes one’s very being.

Yet that having been said, there is a way in which the creation in Augustine’s system is characterized by a fragility which corresponds to the exquisite degree of its beauty. The Creator, if he wishes to respect the integrity of the beauty which mirrors his own in time and space, cannot remedy this fragility, part of which is not only the harmony of physical things, but also the harmony of wills. The cosmos is suffused with freedom, the freedom of the angels and of the human beings who are its crowning glory. How easy it would be for any of these intensely beautiful creatures to “opt out” of the whole, to become aware of their own beauty as an isolated good, and seize it, so to speak, as leverage against the rest of creation, and thus against God! There is no flaw in creation, rather, such ravishing beauty that each creature, becoming aware of its own self as exquisite, is tempted to rest in that good as though it were a private good, as though it had not been given, as though one had generated oneself, and then to exercise it to draw attention, to fascinate others, less beautiful in their own right but still beautiful in their place in the whole. In other words, the temptation is to set oneself up as, in effect, God. That is the sin which Augustine calls “pride,” and which is the essence of original sin. CAVADINI

Your question seems to ask why would God have created the angels in the first place if He knew some of them would go against His design for them. You must understand that God is always in control and despite what this devil and all the rest of the disobedient angels did from the very beginning they really have no authority or power over His creation. They are all contained within certain parameters which means God would only allow them to tempt us. This activity of temptation is actually their only freedom and since Paul said in his epistle that no temptation is beyond your power to overcome it, then by this definition there is always a way out of it. The problem with man is his limited knowledge in this field and he is often if you can say “fooled” into this activity from the devil. I have a cliché statement that goes like this. The only power the devil has is the power you give to him

You have the power says Jesus to trample over scorpions and demons. It is not a one way street here. You can stand up to this old fox and sneak. His greatest strength is his bags of illusions which he tries to impress us in believing he is all powerful but this is only an illusion he sets forth. He is the master of illusions. He is actually the most scared creature of all. All the devils are frightened spiritual beings and it is incredible they all hide this fear from us. They are all afraid because of their disobedience to God and now they are in this state for eternity they actually hide this fear from us when they engage their activity of temptation to us. The reason why the devil does not leave us is because one we don’t have any formal education in dealing with him and two we do not realise he is only a fearful creature and we may have this unhealthy fear of him. One way the devil can have success over us is seeing that we have this fear over him.

The problem again is we are not taught to stand up to him. We don’t need to have any fear when dealing with him. God expects us to become tigers when dealing with this old foe. When we become tigers we become terrifying to the devil. St. Augustine had written that when we are afraid of the devil he becomes a giant and when we learn to despise him he becomes a dwarf. What then can a dwarf do to you? Learn then you have the power to disarm him. This devil tends to work one on one. He never likes to expose himself in a group. To defeat him at the temptation level is very easy. When the temptation can be too strong for you to resist all you have to do to defeat it is simply reveal the temptation to someone more spiritual. If the temptation comes again two or three more times shortly afterwards then get up go to that person and reveal it. The devil noticing what you are doing will always give up every time you tell someone what he is up to. He will always scram towards the nearest exit for this devil as all the other disobedient angels do not like group therapy!

God is in fact using these angels for our own spiritual growth. The question about God permitting this angel to tempt Adam and Eve is not necessarily God trying to bring down mankind. He knows what He is doing and permitting. The answer to all of this can point to us a real and interesting catechism in dealing with temptation. There are three ways in dealing with temptation and our first parents failed all three of them. The first way in dealing with the devil is to ignore the temptation. Ignore this devil. Here Eve failed this one for she was talking to the devil like an old pro. The second way to defeat him is to reveal the temptation. You will notice that the devil works one on one. He did not approach Adam and Eve while they were together. To defeat him Eve needed to tell her husband what the temptation was doing to her. Again she failed at this one. The other way to defeat the devil is when you sin and you have recourse to Confession. Again our first parents failed at this. So you see in truth God was giving us this great catechism. Today as we have learned much more than what Adam and Eve did we can face this devil and learn to grow spiritually accordingly to what the Church has taught and give this devil the old boot!

What God does, God does very well. That’s a first principle.

God created Lucifer, an archangel most beautiful. However, he and the other angels were not before the Beatific Vision in heaven (the “throne” is a symbolic description of the Beatific Vision, which is purely spiritual). They were first subject to a moral test. Lucifer and a third of the angels opposed God out of pride and thus separated themselves from God forever, by a definite choice. The rest of the angelic hosts, lead by Michael, remained faithful to God and were admitted into heaven.

God allowed Lucifer (now Satan, meaning “Adversary”) and the fallen angels to remain alive because God is, and thus He cannot and will not do anything that means evil or imperfection or destruction, such as undoing His creation.

The second point: yes, God knows every thing you will ever think or do, but that is a great mystery due to His omniscience. What we know with absolute certainty is that you are totally, completely free to act and choose, because you are in the image and likeness of God, who willed that we be totally free.

Surely it was Satan’s fault that Adam and Eve fell. But only in a sense. Ultimately, Eve was free to choose, and distrusted God by placing her trust in Satan. Adam, also, who was called to be the head of the family, distrusted God by trusting Eve rather than rebuking her. Therefore man condemned himself by his own free choice.

However - here we see God’s wisdom - ultimately man’s choice of evil was indirect and due to a temptation. Unlike Satan and the fallen angels - who made a perpetual choice of separation from God - men were only partially guilty. Thus God, the ineffably merciful God, decided to act personally to help man. In justice He condemned us, but in mercy He redeemed us. The Son took flesh and became man, so that He could become our savior. From that day, mankind, who had been ever since subject to Satan, was freed. Now every man can choose who to serve: God or Satan. To those who chose God, He gives the ineffable privilege not just of being God’s servant, but of becoming true children of God, endowed with the power to rebuke Satan and overcome all his temptations through divine grace. And by the sufferings of Christ, men have not one, not seven, but as many chances at redemption and forgiveness as he may need throughout his life.

God limits the Angels perceptions and understandings of reason in certain areas, also the same with man. In this case, the limitation is raw mathematics. One does not oppose a force which is finite and limited, against a force that can reproduce unlimited reinforcements. The math speaks for itself. At best, the opposing force with it’s rather limited capacity to add anything into it’s ranks, ie. at best can only try to persuade the opponents soldiers onto it’s side, makes this a losing war from the beginning.

We do the same ourselves, as a race even without placing what particular faith on the table. We all want “most of us at least” to live in peace, in a loving community, being able to put in an honest effort into being productive, and being in harmony. The fact that we still war with each other speaks for our own stupidity, and we don’t have blind ambition to blame … or do we?

We fell and continue to, and it’s this whole complacency, where I see one person doing the load of 20, and 20 doing the load of one going on in too many churches, Catholic, Protestant or otherwise.
