During the Last Supper, Jesus presented all of his apostles with His own body and blood in what we know as the Eucharist. However, at that point Jesus presumably already knew that Judas had betrayed him and thus committed a mortal sin. Why did Jesus do this? And despite him doing so, we as Catholics are taught the we should never take the Eucharist with the stain of a mortal sin on our soul. My own opinion is that Jesus did this simply out of love, basically telling Judas that I love you so much, despite your actions, I want to give you my body and blood. Would this be a correct assumption?
