Why did not the candidates that lost get the fact that this election is about Jobs?

I think prolife candidates lost because 1) there were too many of them and 2) they did not get the realitiy that his election in Michigan at least is about Jobs. Why do you think they missed this fact?

In the last major election, the candidates who would have brought jobs lost overwhelmingly to the ones that brought welfare and increased government dependency/ freebees.
