Why did Satan turn away from perfect goodness?

I don’t know too much about angels. Were they created in time or outside of time? If in time, why cant they repent like humans can? Do angels have the beatific vision? If so why would they want to turn away from perfect Goodness? I know the church doesn’t really offer any solutions but is there any pauseible speculation?
