The Book of Revelation was too ‘symbolic’ Luther is said to have taught that Jesus Christ was not found in the writings nor could He be taught from the contents of the Apocolypse.
Also, being one of the hotly debated writings that made it into the Canon and one of [if not the last] last books to make the “cut” … Luther wanted to place it in an “Appendix” Calvin prevaled upon Luther to leave the NT books complete as found in the Tradition except for the Duetero-Canonical Books which were placed in that Appendix before being dropped. They are making a comeback in some PRotestant Versions - though still not formally accepted in the Bible “Canon”
Luther inserted the word “alone” into the Letter to the Romans … 1 Timothy of course states rather clearly thate we are not saved by works alone … the only place where ‘works’ and ‘alone’ are found together [except for Luther’s addition] …,

He removed the deuterocanon, because 1 & 2 Maccabees support purgatory. He also removed several New Testament books, especially the Epistle of James, because he could not reconcile various Protestant doctrines like Sola fide with it.
