Hi,
My name is Chris and I am a pentecostal. I was saved 4 years ago and I am confused about some things in the Catholic religion. I don’t understand why you have to call priests “father”.
The Bible tells us not to.
Matthew 23:9
And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
I have searched many different versions of the Bible and the original languages in which this verse was written, and the most common interpretation of this is that, other than our biological fathers, we should not call any man on earth father. Can you please explain?
